The 17th annual ESPY Awards Show was held Wednesday night at the Nokia theater in Los Angeles, where Shaun White took honors for Best Male Action Sport Athlete. This marks the fifth straight year in a row he has won the award.

Other athletes nominated this year included surfing's Kelly Slater, skateboarding's Ryan Sheckler, and motocross rider James Stewart. Unlike the other nominees, White is the only athlete to compete professionally in two sports, snowboarding and skateboarding, which may have played a deciding factor.

Roxy rider Torah Bright was also nominated for Best Female Action Sport Athlete, but it was surfing's Maya Gabeira who took the award in this category.

The show, hosted by Samuel L. Jackson, will be televised on ESPN and ESPN HD on Sunday, starting at 9 p.m. ET.
