Travis Kennedy signs with TECHNINE

by Administrator 23. February 2010 08:08

Technine is proud to announce the addition of Travis Kennedy to the Technine Team. Kennedy will be getting on the full Technine program and riding boards, bindings and outerwear. T.K. will join the ranks of Technine pros MFM, Lucas Magoon, Simon Chamberlain, Chris Bradshaw, Derek Dennison, Dylan Thompson and Jonah Owen.

“T.K. is really hyped up this season and the whole crew is stoked to have him on the program. He is a great addition to the Technine team as well as to the FODT movie,“ Says Cole Taylor of Technine and FODT films. “T.K. is hungry and ready to get out there show people what time it is.”

“I can’t wait to shoot photos of T.K. out in the backcountry this year,” says Technine founder and photographer E-Stone. “Kids think T.K. is this crazy jibber but the truth is he is super well-rounded and destroys the backcountry as well as the streets. I have been a fan of Travis Kennedy for years! I can’t wait to see what he pulls off with a Technine under his feet.”

“I’m hyped to be working with the whole Technine fam. It feels good to get a fresh start with a company that is my style 100 percent. I back everything about Technine and now they have my back in return. I’m ready to work hard and kill it with one of the sickest crews in snowboarding. I’m just getting started!” says Travis.

Travis has been out in Tahoe, California working hard with the FODT /MFM and friends crew. Travis has been putting together what he calls “the best video part of his life.” Look out for the new film dropping this fall.

Win a FORUM MANUAL

by Administrator 16. January 2010 17:34

While it’s still a bit early for big jumps, there’s a good amount of snow in most major cities making urban spots a go. The team is out shooting as we speak, so we were thinking it would be a good time to hook you up with a chance to win a Manual for your own urban missions. All you have to do is send us your best action shots: hitting rails, ledges, walls, roof gaps … basically anything that isn’t at a resort, and the board could be yours!

Signal Park Series 142 cm BOARDS ARE FINALLY HERE!

by Administrator 5. November 2009 12:44

Yep.  You better believe it.  We only got 4 of these bad boys right now and you know they will be going FAST!  You better get yours before its too late.  Dr. Drew Poganski supposedly has one on reserve but due to his lack of a voicemail on his celly, these might not last for him.  So if anyone out there knows how to get ahold of Drew tell him his board is here and he can now go get some of these shots he has been claiming all summer.

Max Legend, Yan Dofin, and Marius Otterstad Off Rome Snowboards

by Administrator 6. October 2009 11:09

Rome has apparently been forced by the current economic tight times to part ways with riders Max Legend, Yan Dofin, and Marius Otterstad. Team Manager and the man behind Kids On Shred Productions John Cavan was recently quoted on shayboarder.com explaining the cuts:

“Rome like every other brand in snowboarding has been deeply effected by these crazy economic times and although the number of positions at our company that have fallen victim to these times may not be as big as say a Burton or a DC when you factor in the size of our brand it’s just as tough. That goes for the team to. The team is an extension of our marketing department and every department at Rome felt this crunch. We had to make really hard decisions that unfortunately really didn’t come down to performance but had a lot to do with where their contracts fell in the budget. I have gone to war with all of these guys for two movies, almost any of our riders would do anything thing I asked them to do, so it’s been really hard. A short answer to a question I could go on and on about is yes we had to make some big changes to our team, Max (Legend), Yan (Dofin), and Marius (Otterstad) are all no longer part of the pro team, it’s sucked more than any words I can type here can describe, but it’s something that in the end had to happen. We’re definitely regrouping and moving forward from here. I’ll do anything for those three and it’s been a hard pill to swallow.”

Rome’s current pro roster includes Bjorn Leines, Eiki Helgason, LNP, MFR, Silvia Mittermuller, Will Lavigne, John Foy, Greg Bokenkamp, Johnny Lazzereschi, Stale Sandbech, and Johnnie Paxson.
