There's a new snowboard clown in town, and his name is Super Bobby.
He's a rapper—no, he's not the next Jay Z, but he's funny enough. And
Forum is backing him with "Forum Jamz!, Volume One" (The title enhanced
with a "sick" tagger/graf font.) What is essentially a cultural parody
a la Weird Al Yankovic, the three tracks by Super Bobby jokingly stabs
at our culture, making a mockery of over-sized stances, all over
prints, tight jeans, baggy jeans and bandanas—nothing is off limits.
And it's all in good fun because, hey, a little self-denigration never
hurt anyone, right?
Have a look at these lyrics:
I
read the JP Walker handbook/now I rock that Shaun White bandana
look/I'm on my cell phone/my friends I get at em'/mixed pin stripes
with a little checker pattern/my tight jeans are light green/cause I
wanna fit in at the US Open pipe scene/my flat brim has been wack
since/ Mike Michaelchuck did that weird looking back flip/when I ride I
wear my pants yo super low/26-inch stance multi-colored headphone/I got
the best bread neon baggy sweatshirt/ride past the fun box cause I
might get hurt/I be looking super ill on the chairlift/I get scared to
buckle in/yeah I get embarrassed/what do I need to link all my turns
for/I got the most expensive snowboard.
